Recycling Black Friday

Black Friday has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States since 2005 and most major retailers open very early, as early as overnight hours, and offer promotional sales.

As part of Ecoalf ́s philosophy, the brand will not participate in Black Friday rather it is highlighting the need to consume responsibly activating a repair service across its stores to further close the loop in its circular economy model.
The clothing production has doubled over the past 15 years. Campaigns that encourage impulse buying through aggressive discounts and offers, such as Black Friday, pushes consumers to buy something that has a high chance of ending up in the trash tomorrow.

On Nov 23rd, as part of the circular economy model Ecoalf will offer a repair service across its retail stores along with tips on how to prolong the lifecycle of your garments, while minimizing the environmental impact.
This is what Recycling Black Friday is all about.

“The number of garments produced annually has doubled since 2000 and exceeded 100 billion for the first time in 2014

Ecoalf arose in 2009 from my frustration with the excessive use of the world’s natural resources and the amount of waste produced by industrialized countries. ”
